FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Local writer breaks in with national publication.
Eugene, Ore. – October 4, 2011 – Area writer David Ozab is among 101 writers selected for the latest Chicken Soup for the Soul volume, titled “Devotional Stories for Tough Times.” The book is now on the shelves of both national book chains and independent bookstores across the country and is also available online through Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Powell’s Books in Portland.
Ozab’s devotional, titled “Truth at the Benefit Sale” is taken from Chapter 4 of his first book (in progress) titled “A Smile for Anna.”
“The book tells the story of my daughter’s life from the womb to about age four,” says Ozab, “including her cleft diagnosis and surgery, her difficulties with speech and her incredible outgoing spirit through it all.”
Ozab was previously featured in local media, along with his wife and daughter, in 2007 when they arranged a fundraising drive together with a local church and area hospitals. They raised over $2,000 to buy special bears through the Cleft Palate Foundation for children undergoing cleft surgery.
Ozab is a guest contributor at MyEugene and a member of the Mid-Valley Chapter of Willamette Writers. He is a stay-at-home dad who blogs about parenting and life at FatherhoodEtc.com and his writing career at davidozab.com.
